Mallory Johnson were the goal scorers and East Stroudsburg University held a 30-3 advantage in shots, posting a 3-0 win vs. California (Pa.) in PSAC women's soccer on Friday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
ESU (4-2-1, 4-1-1), the four-time defending PSAC champion, won its third straight game, all against conference opponents, by an aggregate 13-1 score after a 4-0 win vs. Mansfield on September 12 and a 6-1 win at IUP last Saturday.
Sicker's goal, her second of the season and the 10th of her career, was assisted by senior forward
Alex Pickett in the 22nd minute and gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Pickett has six assists this season, picking up one in six of ESU's seven games, giving her 17 in her career (tied for sixth in school history) along with 23 goals (tied for seventh at ESU).
Skove scored her third of the season in the 55th minute, heading in a corner kick by junior back
Hannah Saggese, who notched her first assist of the season after posting seven to earn All-PSAC first team and All-Region honors as a sophomore. Skove's goal was the ninth of her career for the 2017 All-PSAC and All-Region selection.
Johnson had her second goal of the year in the 75th minute, knocking in a rebound of a shot by junior midfielder
Nicole Abbott. Johnson previously had a goal and two assists in ESU's 6-1 win vs. Mercyhurst three weeks ago, while Abbott had three goals and an assist in last Saturday's 6-1 at IUP and has four goals and two assists this fall.
Freshman goalkeeper
Mauri Jackson made one save, recording her second shutout of the season in her third start.
Reilly McGlumphy had nine saves for California (1-6, 0-6) as ESU posted advantages of 15-1 in shots in the first half, and 15-2 in the second half. The Warriors also had an 8-2 margin in corner kicks.
ESU travels to Millersville (6-1, 5-1), the PSAC leader, for a 4:30 p.m. start on Sunday. The Marauders, picked 13th in the 17-team PSAC preseason poll, fell 2-1 at Kutztown for their only loss on September 12. They have PSAC wins over California, Bloomsburg, Pitt-Johnstown, Edinboro and most recently 2-0 at Seton Hill on Friday. ESU fell 3-2 (OT) at Seton Hill on September 8 after holding a 2-0 second-half lead.
