EAST STROUDSBURG – Seniors Paige Harrold and Ashley Ceschini each had a goal and an assist, leading nine different players with at least one point in a 6-0 victory for East Stroudsburg University over Mercyhurst on Saturday.

The Warriors (4-1) have outscored opponents 15-0 during their current three-game winning streak. They had a 24-2 shot advantage over the Lakers (1-4) in today's victory.

Senior Kelli Shapiro and junior Emily Spangler scored in the first half for the home side, while junior Karly Conway, Harrold, Ceschini and sophomore Samantha Bruttomesso-Clarke added insurance strikes after the intermission.

Junior Maddie Richie and sophomore Margaret Fulton combined for the shutout in goal, with Fulton making the only two saves during the final three minutes of the contest.

ESU improved to 21-1 lifetime against Mercyhurst, including a perfect 15-0 mark at Whitenight Field.

Shapiro's opener was an unassisted strike 16:14 into the game, as she ran down the left side and beat goalie Victoria Triaga low for her second goal of the season.

Spangler recorded her first goal of the year at 28:38, taking a pass from junior Kristen English off a corner and firing in a shot from the top of the circle.

Senior Makenna Marhefka set up Conway for ESU's third marker five minutes into the second half. Ceschini then assisted on Harrold's goal in the 50th minute, with the roles reversed on Ceschini's strike 10 minutes later.

Harrold now has a team-high nine points (4 G, 1 A) on the year.

Bruttomesso-Clarke rounded out the scoring with 30 seconds remaining, taking a cross from freshman Morgan Mullen on the right side and finishing from the center of the circle. Bruttomesso-Clarke registered her first collegiate goal, while Mullen picked up her first point.

ESU, ranked No. 3 in the latest NFHCA Division II coaches' poll, hosts No. 4 West Chester in a non-conference matchup between the two PSAC teams on Tuesday. That contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
