EAST STROUDSBURG – Redshirt senior tailback Jaymar Anderson ran for 239 yards and tied a PSAC record with six rushing touchdowns, including four in the fourth quarter, as East Stroudsburg University rallied past Seton Hill for a 41-34 victory in the Warriors' home opener at Eiler-Martin Stadium on Saturday night.

Anderson's 239 yards, the fourth-most in school history, came on 32 carries. His six rushing TD are tied with four other players - Shippensburg's John Kuhn vs. California in 2002, IUP's Chris Temple vs. Edinboro in 2015, Gannon's Marcus Jones vs. Edinboro in 2017, and IUP's Samir Bullock vs. Seton Hill in 2017 - for the most in conference history.

He shattered ESU's single-game rushing TD record of four held by six players, most recently all-time leading rusher Robert Healy at Mercyhurst in 2016.

His six total TD are second-most in school history behind Jon Schnaars' seven receiving TD - four in regulation and three in overtime - in a 69-67 (5OT) loss vs. Shippensburg in 2015. They also rank tied for second in PSAC history, behind Schnaars' effort.

Anderson became the second ESU player with two 200-yard rushing games, coming in his 12th career start, after turning in 200 yards and three TD on 30 carries in a win at Lock Haven last fall. He had his seventh 100-yard rushing game after posting six last season. Previously, Andre Myers ran for 267 yards vs. Mansfield and 211 yards vs. Cheyney in 1998.

ESU (1-1), which fell 49-17 at No. 8 Ferris State (Mich.) last week with Anderson out of the lineup due to injury, trailed 27-13 entering the fourth quarter before scoring 28 straight points to jump in front.

Anderson gave the Warriors a 34-27 lead with a 28-yard TD with 5:08 remaining, and added his sixth TD with a five-yard score with 3:08 left after an interception and 56-yard return by redshirt senior free safety Billy Inge III.

Seton Hill (0-2), which dropped its 16th straight, pulled within 41-34 on a 13-yard TD from Ryan Barabe (18-for-41, 326 yards, 2 TD, Int.) to Cinque Sweeting to cap an eight-play, 94-yard drive with 1:45 left, but ESU recovered the ensuing onside kick and ran out the clock on three runs by Anderson.

Sweeting finished with 19 carries for 118 yards and a TD, along with two catches for 13 yards and a TD, for Seton Hill. Ardell Brown had six catches for 139 yards after posting six for 164 yards and three TD in a 34-28 (OT) loss at Virginia Union last week. Kinan Humphrey had four catches for 121 yards and a TD, and Logan Wiland had 10 carries for 82 yards and two TD.

ESU redshirt sophomore quarterback Ben Moser was 16-for-29 for 226 yards without an interception, and ran eight times for 36 yards, connecting with senior wide receiver Jylil Reeder (3 catches, 76 yards) and redshirt sophomore tailback Devante Robinson (7 catches, 72 yards; 4 carries, 33 yards).

Seton Hill led 14-13 at halftime after both teams scored on their opening possessions.  Anderson carried five times for 45 yards and scored on a one-yard run on the first series of the game, setting the tone for a 14-carry, 128-yard, two-TD first half which also included a 49-yard burst midway through the second quarter.

Seton Hill took a 27-13 lead with two third-quarter touchdowns - a one-yard run by Wiland after a 65-yard drive, and a 24-yard run by Sweeting after an 86-yard drive - and held that advantage entering the fourth quarter.

Anderson had 20 carries for 180 yards through three quarters, then added 12 carries for 59 yards and four TD in the final segment.

A 45-yard pass from Moser to Reeder on the third play of the fourth quarter set up a four-yard TD run by Anderson, completing a quick three-play, 52-yard drive after a Seton Hill punt to get ESU within 27-20 at the 13:12 mark.

A false start and ineligible receiver penalty stalled SHU's next drive in a three-and-out, and Anderson was back in the end zone for his fourth TD of the game to tie it at 27-all with 8:09 remaining. He scored from one yard out after an eight-play, 64-yard drive that include a 13-yard run by Moser, 13-yard pass from Moser to redshirt junior wide receiver Anthony Guarino, and completions of 12 yards to Robinson and 19 yards to Reeder.

Another three-and-out set ESU up for its go-ahead TD drive, going 54 yards in six plays. Moser had a 12-yard run on third-and-eight, hit Guarino for 12 yards and a first down, and Anderson hit a 28-yard run right up the middle for his fifth TD and a 34-27 lead with 5:08 left.

Inge's interception and 56-yard return, along with a Seton Hill penalty that moved the ball to the five-yard line, led to Anderson's sixth rush TD from five yards out and a 41-27 count.

ESU travels to Edinboro (2-0), which won 21-16 at Bloomsburg, in the Fighting Scots home opener next Saturday at 12 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
