Olivia Lukshides and freshman
Emily Librandi both hit PSAC qualifying marks in the 50-yard freestyle on Saturday for the East Stroudsburg University women's swimming team at a Tri-Meet with Kutztown and Misericordia in Dallas, Pa.
ESU dropped a close decision against Kutztown, 109-90 while coming up short against Misericordia, 130-72. Misericordia also defeated Kutztown in the duals, 128.50-75.50.
Librandi recorded a second-place finish for the Warriors in the 50-free with a time of 25.78, while Lukshides finished right behind Librandi with a time of 25.79. Librandi is a first-time qualifier in the event for ESU, while Lukshides qualified for the event as a junior with a time of 24.67. Junior
Samantha Christman finished sixth in the event with a time of 27.66.
Senior
Tarah Killane delivered a second-place finish for ESU in the 1000-yard freestyle as she recorded a time of 11:39.90. Sophomore
Emma Billings also notched a second-place finish for the Warriors in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.73.
Lukshides would swim to a first-place finish for the Warriors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.24, while sophomore
Sarah Luigard clocked a time of 1:06.30 for the Warriors to finish fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
ESU had a pair of top five finishers in the 100-yard backstroke as junior
Taylor Howery finished second with a time of 1:03.73, while Librandi placed fifth with a time of 1:06.05.
Other top five finishers on the day for ESU included Killane in the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.28) and Luigard in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.30). The Warriors also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Lukshides, Howery, Billings, and Librandi recorded a time of 1:44.96.
The Warriors return to the pool on Oct. 26 as ESU hosts Cedar Crest at Koehler Fieldhouse beginning at 1 p.m.
