GREENSBURG, Pa. – The second-ranked East Stroudsburg women's field hockey team got back into the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 shutout victory against Seton Hill. Senior Emily Spangler scored a pair of goals to lead the Warriors against the Griffins.

ESU (15-2, 8-1 PSAC) got off to a quick start against Seton Hill as the Warriors opened the scoring just 3:27 into the first quarter as Spangler scored her fourth goal of the season. The Warriors held a 30-1 advantage in shots in the contest, including a 19-1 edge in shots on goal.

Sophomore Celeste Veenstra tallied her 20th goal of the season for the Warriors and added a pair of assists, while senior Karly Conway added her team-leading eighth assist of the season on Spangler's second goal of the contest. Freshman Nicole Krozser scored her first collegiate goal for ESU with just over 10 minutes left to play in the contest.

Following Spangler's goal that gave ESU a 1-0 advantage, sophomore Becca Heffner took a feed from Veenstra to beat the Seton Hill goalkeeper and make it 2-0 in favor of the Warriors at the 9:09 mark of the first quarter.

The Warriors continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter as they took a pair of shots that would be stopped by Seton Hill goalkeeper Elizabeth Armbruster. Both of the chances for ESU would come in the final three minutes of the half as Veenstra had both of her shots denied at the 27:47 and 29:06 mark.

ESU scored on three of its four shots on goal in the third period as Veenstra scored at the 33:55 mark to make it 3-0. Krozser then made it 4-0 in favor of ESU at the 37:55 mark, while Spangler tallied her second goal of the contest to make it 5-0.

Junior Jada Martin added the lone goal of the fourth quarter as she increased ESU's lead to 6-0. Despite allowing the four second-half goals, Armbruster finished the contest with 13 saves overall and 10 in the half.

Senior goalkeeper Maddie Richie improved to 15-2 on the season as she made one save in 55:30 of action. Redshirt freshman Christina Zydzik played the final 4:30 of the contest in net for the Warriors.
