EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team was edged by undefeated and sixth-ranked Millersville on Wednesday by a 1-0 margin at Eiler-Martin Field. Morgan Winchock's goal in the fourth minute of play held up as the game-winning tally for the Marauders.
ESU (6-3, 5-3 PSAC East) outshot Millersville (10-0, 8-0) by a 17-13 margin in the match and also held an 8-4 advantage on corners, but the Marauders were able to escape with the victory to remain unbeaten.

Mauri Jackson's clearance attempt got blocked and bounced to the top of the box where Winchock picked up the loose ball. Winchock found the back of the net with a high shot for her fourth goal of the season, making it 1-0 Millersville.
The Warriors had a pair of solid scoring chances later in the period, but weren't able to capitalize. With 20 minutes showing on the clock,
Corryn Gamber's header attempt glanced off the post and trickled away from danger and out for a goal kick. Then, just over a minute later,
Danielle Cary received a pass inside the box and fired a shot on target, but Millersville goalie Reagan Kolinski got her hand on it to deny the game-tying goal.
ESU was held scoreless for the remainder of the half as the Marauders headed into the break with 1-0 advantage. The Warriors outshot Millersville 8-6 in the frame, led by three shots apiece from Cary and
Haley Skove.
Late in the second half, the Warriors had another chance to tie things up. With 2:36 showing on the clock,
Haley Skove sent a cross into the box that was punched away by Kolinski.
Monica Wood was in the right place for the rebound but her volley attempt sailed high of the net, and Millersville was eventually able to close out the 1-0 victory for its 10
th win of the season.
Kolinski made seven saves in the winning effort in net for the Marauders, while Jackson stopped six shots for ESU.
Skove led the Warriors with five shots in the contest, and Cary had three, all of which were on target.
ESU hits the road for a match at Shepherd on October 12 at 1 p.m.
