SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – East Stroudsburg University sophomore
Lynsy Gruwell was recognized on Friday as the PSAC Champion Scholar for women's soccer.
The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average at the PSAC championship site. Gruwell owns a perfect 4.0 GPA as a special education/early childhood major. The Camden, Delaware native has played in four games for the Warriors this season and registered an assist in the team's win over Mansfield.
This is the fourth-straight year that an ESU player has received the Champion Scholar Award for women's soccer. Andrea Polanco won the award in 2016,
Nicole Abbott was honored in both 2017 and 2018, and
Carly Abbott joined her twin sister Nicole with an identical GPA in 2018 as the duo were recognized as co-winners.
Gruwell becomes ESU's 15
th PSAC Champion Scholar winner since the program was instituted in 2011-12.
