YORK, Pa. – Freshman
Sarah Luigard shattered her previous PR while qualifying for the 'B' final in the 200-yard butterfly, and junior
Tarah Killane scored individually for the eighth time in her career to lead the way for East Stroudsburg University on Day 3 of the PSAC Swimming Championships.
Luigard, who entered the meet with a previous top time of 2:25.15 in the 200 fly, lowered that mark all the way down to 2:15.76 in the preliminaries to advance to the evening session as the No. 15 qualifier. Her time drop was the third largest of any swimmer competing in the event on Friday.
The time also ranks No. 6 all-time in ESU program history. Luigard would hold on to her 15th position in the final after touching the wall in 2:15.92.
Killane added four points to the Warriors' team total in the 500 freestyle. After qualifying for the 'C' final with a season-best time of 5:16.42, she reduced that mark down to 5:15.93 in the evening race to earn a 21st place result.
Junior
Alexandra Ferrante added her third PR of the conference meet after completing her 500 free preliminary race in 5:41.34.
ESU will enter the final day of PSAC's in ninth place in the team standings with a total of 182 points. The Warriors are a half-point ahead of 10th-place Kutztown, and they are 84 back of Cal U in eighth.
The PSAC Championships conclude on Saturday with the 400 free relay and individual finals in the 1650 free, 100 free, 200 backstroke and 200 breaststroke. Preliminaries start at 10 a.m., while the evening session begins at 5 p.m.
