ESU 2018-19 PSAC Qualifiers
EAST STROUDSBURG – Freshman
Emma Billings became the eighth East Stroudsburg University swimmer to qualify for the 2019 PSAC Championships, booking her spot in the 200-yard freestyle at the NYU Invitational this weekend.
Billings advanced in dramatic fashion, finishing under the qualifying standard in her last race of the regular season. After recording a time of 2:02.88 in the preliminaries, Billings touched in at 2:01.45 in Saturday evening's final.
That mark was over a half-second under the PSAC standard of 2:02.08, and it was over a second quicker than her previous PR of 2:02.72 which was established at the TCNJ Invitational in December.
Billings also competed in the 100 free on Friday, matching her season-best with a time of 56.79. She will now continue training with seven of her Warrior teammates for this year's conference meet, which will take place at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa., from Feb. 20-23.
