EAST STROUDSBURG – A game full of momentum swings ended in East Stroudsburg University's favor on Wednesday, as the ninth-ranked Warriors closed on a 4-1 run to knock off No. 6 LIU Post by a 15-12 final at Whitenight Field.

Junior Hana Cicerelle matched her career-high with eight points, totaling four goals and four assists in the win. Senior Emma Rufolo added four goals, including the go-ahead strike with 14:20 remaining, one assist and five draw controls, while junior Tatyana Petteway had a season-high 16 saves in goal.

ESU (3-2) jumped ahead 4-0 before the game was four minutes old, with Rufolo scoring a pair of goals and sophomore Shannon Dent picking up two assists during the run. The lead was 5-1 after 10 minutes in the opening half.

The Pioneers (3-2) responded with five-consecutive goals to grab their first advantage with 13:22 left prior to intermission. Sophomore Krista Mitarotonda, though, scored all three of her goals in the remainder of the half to help the Warriors move back in front 10-8 at the break.

The visitors started the second half strong, outscoring ESU 3-1 over a 10-minute period and tying the game back up at 11-11 on a goal by Alyssa Mallery with 21:55 left in regulation.

Petteway made two key saves over the ensuing five minutes, and sophomore Abbey Castor set up Rufolo to put the Warriors in front for good just past the midway point of the half. Cicerelle and Rufolo followed with goals to complete a 3-0 run for ESU, and the teams traded goals over the final nine minutes of the contest.

The Warriors earn their second-straight win over LIU Post, as they topped the Pioneers 17-7 to conclude the 2018 regular season.

Cicerelle had previously totaled eight points in a 19-14 win over Mercyhurst last April. She moves into a tie for 20th place in program history with 134 points overall in her Warrior career.

Mitarotonda added seven draw controls while recording her sixth-consecutive hat trick dating back to last season. Jefferis finished with a season-high three goals in the victory.

ESU closes out a four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon, hosting Seton Hill at 12 p.m. in the PSAC opener for both teams.
