ASTON, Pa. – Freshman Mikayla Pourby and sophomore Mickayla Grow each recorded complete-game victories in the circle, helping East Stroudsburg University earn a doubleheader sweep over Chestnut Hill on Thursday.

The Warriors (6-10) have now won six of their last eight games overall. They topped the Griffins (4-6) by a 1-0 final in the opener and won Game 2 by a 6-2 decision.

Pourby struck out a season-high eight batters while allowing just four hits in Game 1. She has given up just two runs (both unearned) over her past four appearances spanning 22 innings. Today's outing lowers her season earned-run average down to 1.62.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Caleen provided the lone run for ESU in the bottom of the third, as she lofted a two-out single over the second baseman to score freshman Denva Shaw-Tait. Pourby also had an effective performance in the batter's box, where she finished 2 for 2 with a walk from the No. 7 spot in the lineup.

Shaw-Tait had half of the Warriors' four stolen bases in the opener, with redshirt freshman Marissa Govan and senior Madison Vicendese accounting for the other two steals.

Grow picked up her second win this season in the nightcap, as she allowed two runs (one earned) and five hits while going the distance for a fourth time in her collegiate career.

A two-run double by Govan got the Warriors on the board in the third inning, and they added four more runs in the following frame to break a 2-2 tie.

All four of those runs came with two outs. Two crossed the plate on an error, freshman Lexi Wright was safe at home after a pitch bounced away from the catcher, and junior Kaylee Hazewski completed the scoring with her first double of the season.

Hazewski and sophomore Sofia Cecchin had a successful double steal in the third, raising their season totals to 17 and 12, respectively. Hazewski is up to 65 steals at ESU, moving her within 11 of tying Jen Veronesi (2004-07) for the program record.

The Warriors return to the Maplezone Sports Institute for four more neutral site games against Franklin Pierce this weekend. Doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday will begin at 12 p.m.
