Warriors Drop PSAC East Tennis Matchup at Bloomsburg 7-0

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Despite dropping a 7-0 decision against Bloomsburg on Wednesday, the ESU women's tennis team had the opportunity to watch their team manager, Meaghan Hyer make her Warrior debut in an exhibition matchup against the Huskies' Hailie Hoeflein.  
 
Hyer is enrolled in the Career, Independent Living & Learning Studies (CILLS) program at ESU. The program is designed to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities with a learning experience in a campus environment where life and work skills are accelerated by daily encouragement in the life of a university.
 
ESU (5-6, 1-2) battled at the No. 1 doubles position as the duo of junior Marina Zardet and sophomore Quinn McCluskey dropped a 6-3 decision against the Huskies' Vitoria Nery and Cassidy Calimer. Bloomsburg (11-2, 2-1) won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 decision into the singles portion of the match.
 
In singles competition, Zardet would fall 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot against Bloomsburg's Taylor Capoferri, while McCluskey dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision against Calimer. Junior Ivanna Pittman made her season debut for the Warriors, playing at No. 6 position. Pittman dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision against Bloomsburg's Isabella Sarquis.
 
The Warriors head to Easton on Friday for a non-conference match against Lafayette beginning at 3 p.m. ESU is back home on April 16 as the Warriors face Millersville at Wolbers Courts beginning at 2 p.m.
