MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Faith Willenbrock had four RBIs in the opener, and Brianna Battavio hit a go-ahead three-run home run in Game 2 as Millersville finished off a doubleheader sweep over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday.
The Warriors (21-19, 4-6 PSAC) fell 8-0 in five innings in Game 1, and they dropped a 6-2 decision in the night cap. The Marauders (20-25, 3-7 PSAC) take three of four games in the season series between the two teams.
Eleven of Millersville's 14 runs were unearned, with the home side taking advantage of three ESU errors on the afternoon. Willenbrock drove in two during a three-run third inning in the opener, and her two-run homer to left center capped off a five-run bottom of the fourth.
Sophomore
Ashley Spencer had both Warrior hits in the first contest, as she doubled in the first and singled in the third. Catherine Johnson struck out five batters over five innings for the Marauders.
ESU held a 2-1 advantage through three innings in Game 2. Freshman
Lexi Wright delivered an RBI single in the second, and Spencer scored on a wild pitch after drawing a one-out walk in the third.
Millersville moved in front with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, with Battavio and Willenbrock each hitting homers in the frame. Marauder starter Brianna White fanned 11 batters and worked around seven hits while registering a complete-game victory in the circle.
The Warriors managed four stolen bases in the night cap, with junior

Denva Shaw-Tait and sophomore
Sofia Cecchin each contributing on the basepaths. Shaw-Tait also had two of the visitor's seven hits.
ESU returns to Vigon International Field for a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday doubleheader against Bloomsburg. The Warriors' doubleheader with Mansfield, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, is cancelled due to the Mountaineers needing to make up postponed PSAC Central games.
