WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sophomore
Micaela Crines took seven strokes off her round one score on Tuesday, moving up her into a tie for 15th place out of 45 golfers to lead East Stroudsburg University at West Chester's Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational.
Crines finished with a two-day score of 179 (93-86), as she rose three spots from her 18th place ranking following Monday's opening round. Junior
Amy Bergquist (100-103) and freshman
Shannon Campbell (95-108) carded identical tournament scores of 203 to round out ESU's participation in the event. Campbell's round on day one was a new collegiate best.
West Chester's Juliarose Genuardi topped the individual standings at 160 (86-74), and West Chester was also first among the eight qualifying teams with a group score of 668.
The Warriors will host their spring ESU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Glen Brook Golf Club in Stroudsburg. Play is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. both afternoons.
