HOLMDEL, N.J. – The East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team was the top-finishing DII program on Saturday at the Henry Mercer Monmouth Invite as the Warriors completed the 5k run with a total time of 1:44:08.89.
The ESU women recorded an average time of 20:49.78 and finished ahead of St. Francis (N.Y.) and St. Peter's in the team standings.
Senior
Rachael Davalos crossed the finish line with a time of 20:06.96 and placed 49th in the individual standings for the Warriors. Junior
Mandy Fine ran to a 56th-place finish with a time of 20:32.61. Junior
Jenna Vledder and sophomore
Holly Orr placed in the top-70 runners with times of 20:56.94 and 21:04.81.
The Warriors had three other runners that placed in the top 75 as junior
Brittany Carratura placed 72nd, senior Snyder Haven (73rd), and freshman
Samantha Brawner (74th).
Princeton won the overall team standings with a total time of 1:32:04.22, while Marist placed second with a time of 1:34:09.95.
ESU heads to the Don Cathcart Invitational on October 5 in Salisbury, Maryland.
