EAST STROUDSBURG -- In a defensive battle at Eiler-Martin Stadium, the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team and West Chester could not find the back of the net, settling for a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night.
In a battle of two of the top three teams in the PSAC East standings, the Warriors are now 5-4-2 and 3-1-2 in conference action, while the Golden Rams are updated record is 4-1-2, 4-1-1 in league play.
Notables
- ESU GK Raymond Fortebuono remained perfect in his third start in net. He made seven saves on the evening in 110 minutes of action and has not allowed a goal in 290 minutes between the pipes this season. The Collegeville, Pa. native has recorded 15 saves without allowing a goal.
- The Warriors outshot the Golden Rams by a mark of 22-12, including 10-7 on shots on goal.
- Both teams registered four corner kicks.
- Lucas Marques and Colby Raymond each posted three shots. Hubert Herrera also posted multiple shots with two.
- The aggressive WCU play saw 23 fouls to 12 Warrior fouls. WCU was charged with a pair of yellow cards, while ESU was handed a single yellow card.
- WCU GK Daniel Good tallied 10 saves to keep ESU off the scoreboard.
Up Next: ESU will host Bloomsburg on Saturday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The contest is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. ESU and West Chester will then meet again on Monday, when the Warriors travel south to meet the Golden Rams for a 1:00 p.m. start.
