WEST CHESTER – The East Stroudsburg University volleyball team saw their four-game winning-streak come to an end as they fell in a hard-fought four sets to West Chester on Friday night. The set scores at the Hollinger Fieldhouse were 17-25, 25-27, 28-26, 22-25.
The Warriors drop to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC while the Golden Rams improve to 14-5 and 4-3 in conference play.
Senior Ali Finch continued her outstanding play for the Warriors as she recorded her fifth triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 36 assists and 12 digs. The Cadillac, Mich. native also added six total blocks and an ace.

How it Happened
- West Chester led by three points early in the first set but after the Warriors tied it at 9-9, the Golden Rams used a quick 5-0 run to grab a 14-9 advantage before a timeout by ESU. Out of the break, West Chester pushed their lead to 20-12 until the Warriors scored three quick points to force a timeout by the Golden Rams. WCU regained their stride out of the stoppage to close out the set, 25-17, for a 1-0 lead in the match.
- With ESU leading 3-2, the Golden Rams went on a 6-0 sprint to grab an 8-3 advantage. West Chester maintained their solid play as they built a seven-point edge but three straight points by ESU got them within five at 16-11. The Golden Rams went on to take a 18-11 lead but following an ESU timeout, the Warriors scored seven of the next eight points to cut WCU's advantage to one.
ESU kept it rolling out of timeout as they grabbed a 23-21 lead, but the Golden Rams evened the score after a kill and an attack error by ESU. The Warriors proceeded to fend of two set-points by WCU, but the Golden Rams would go on to take the set, 27-25.
- The Golden Rams carried momentum over early in the third set, as they grabbed a led 7-2 before the Warriors scored on six of the next nine rallies to get within two at 10-8. After ESU tied the set at 13-13, West Chester went on a 3-0 sprint to take 16-13 edge which prompted the Warriors to call a timeout.
ESU battled back to even the score on numerous occasions including at 24-24 when the Golden Rams had the chance to close out the match. The Warriors would go in front 26-25, and after the Golden Rams fended off a set point, ESU took advantage of two attack errors by WCU to claim the set, 28-26.
- The Warriors found themselves trailing 12-8 to open the fourth set, but after a timeout, ESU settled in with a 5-0 run to grab a 13-12 lead. After the teams traded rallies, the Golden Rams went out in front 19-18 and never relinquished the lead after that as they went on to win the set, 25-21, and match 3-1.
