WEST CHESTER – Senior Becca Heffner scored the game's only goal at the 26:11 mark in the second quarter, giving the fifth-ranked East Stroudsburg University field hockey team a 1-0 win over No. 2 West Chester in a crucial PSAC matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
The Warriors (13-3, 7-1) posted its sixth straight win overall and first over the Golden Rams since 2017. West Chester drops to 10-3 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
With the victory, ESU grabs control of the number two spot in the PSAC standings with only two regular season contests remaining before the conference tournament.

26:11 | After being granted their second penalty corner of the first half, the Warriors took advantage as they grabbed a 1-0 lead off the stick of Heffner. The Oley, Pa. native received the insert pass from Lesh and fired a low shot from the top left part of the arc that trickled into the back of the net through the legs of West Chester's Claire Nielsen.
