Schooley Records First Collegiate Goal in 3-1 Loss to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- Freshman Natalie Schooley recorded her first collegiate goal during the first half, but Millersville struck for three consecutive second half goals, to defeat the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team, 3-1, on Wednesday night at Pucillo Field.

ESU drops to 4-4-1 on the season and 3-4-1 in PSAC action, while Millersville improves to 3-3-3, 3-3-2 in league play.

Schooley, a native of Cherry Hill, N.J., fired a shot after gaining possession from the MU goalkeeper.

How It Happened

  • 23:04 | Off of a throw in from the far side, a Millersville defender would head an incoming pass in the air. MU's goalkeeper would punch the ball away, but the ball would land right at Schooley's feet. Schooley deposited a shot to the left-side of the vacant net.
  • 52:25 |The Marauders would tie the contest in the 53rd minute, as an excellent long pass would setup Savannah Rennix with space. With just Jackson to beat, Rennix sent a late pass to Aalivia Wainright, who send a shot into the net past the approaching Jackson.
  • 55:50 | The Marauders took its first lead a few moments later. After accepting a nice pass, Morgan Winshock would nutmeg the ball through the legs of a Warrior defender with the pass finding an open Wainright. With Wainright running at full speed, she would send a shot to the left of Jackson, as MU took the lead.
  • 73:40 | Millersville would extend its advantage in the 74th minute. Emma Elwell took possession deep in the offensive end. After firing what looked like a cross at a difficult angle, the shot positioned perfectly to the top right portion of the net. Jackson was able to get a piece of the shot, but the ball would deflect off her hands and into the cross bar. The ball rolled in the net for the Marauders third goal of the contest.
