Warriors Come From Behind to Down Shepherd in 90th minute

Mirthe Bos records the game-winner with just 32 seconds left in regulation

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. VA. -- After trailing 1-0 after goal in the third minute, the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team tallied goals in the 66th and 90th minute to defeat Shepherd, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Shepherd University Soccer Complex.

ESU improves to 5-3-1, 4-4-1 in the PSAC East, while the Rams fall to 1-6-1, 0-6-1 in conference action.

Rebecca Kotula tied the contest for the Warriors with a penalty kick during the 66th minute of action. With the game tied at 1-1 with just 32 second left in regulation, Mirthe Bos would find the back of the net on an assist from Haley Skove to pull off the comeback over the Rams.  

Notables

  • Bos' goal is her third of the season. She ranks second on the squad in both goals and points (6), behind Haley Skove (4G, 9 pts.).
  • With the assist, Skove now has nine points on the season in 10 contests. She has totaled 54 points in 77 games as a Warrior.
  • Kotula's goal is her second of the season and the fifth point for the native of Wyomissing.
  • The Warriors held a 12-3 lead on shots and 5-2 mark on shots on goal.
  • ESU led 3-2 on corner kicks.
