EAST STROUDSBURG -- After a scoreless first half, the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team picked up four second half goals to down Shepherd, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors finish the 2021 season with a 7-8-2, 5-5-2 record in the PSAC, while Shepherd drops to 1-16-0, 1-12-0.
Lucas Marques recorded a goal and an assist, while Abdulla Nuredini also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Trevor Paone registered a goal, while Shepherd also had an own goal on the afternoon.
The ESU athletic department honored seniors Nils Bjorquist, Juan Carlos, Laurent Gjonmarkaj, Teun Jacobs, Oliver Lundberg, Lucas Marques, Evan Miele, Abdulla Nuredini, Conor Rowbottom, Jacob Schwien, Colby Stitchter and Oliver Verity prior to the contest.
Since 2017, ESU has boasted a 40-25-8 record, with a PSAC Championship and an NCAA appearance. ESU has posted the top grade point average among all men's soccer teams in the PSAC the last two years.

How it Happened
- 59:21 | Marques broke open the scoring during the 60th minute of play, firing in a penalty kick goal. The native of Brazil's shot deflected off the left post and slid into the net to give ESU the first lead.
- 76:07 | Marques would fire a shot, that a Ram defender attempted to head over the goal post, but would find the back of the net to lift ESU to a 2-0 advantage.
- 77:06 | Marques found Paone, on a long pass, as Paone would deposit the shot to lift the Warriors to a 3-0 lead.
- 85:01 | The Warriors' final goal of the season came from Nuredini, who rocketed a shot from 35 yards to the top left corner of the net.
