MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University swimming team dropped a dual meet to Millersville on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Marauders by a score of 166-93 at Anttonen Natatorium.
The Warriors are now 3-3 on the young season. Millersville improves to 4-0.
Sarah Luigard picked up a victory in the 100-yd butterfly with a time of 1:02.50. Avery Fohring followed close behind with a time of 1:02.62 for second place.
The Warriors began the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yd medley relay, with Jenna Johnson, Julia Harnish, Avery Fohring and Emma Billings combining for a time of 4:23.36.
In the 1000-yd freestyle, Madison Tafe posted a time of 11:41.04 for second place. The Sayville, N.Y. native also finished second in the 500-yd freestyle (5:45.82).
Harnish earned a second-place finish in the 100-yd breaststroke, finishing just behind Ava Adiletti, clocking a time of 1:13.68.
Fohring picked up another runner-up finish in the 200-yd butterfly, touching the blocks with a 2:19.46.
Billings registered the top ESU time in the 50-yd freestyle, with a 26.74 mark for third place.
In the 200-yd breaststroke, Harnish clocked a time of 2:42.13, which was good enough for second place.
In the final relay event, ESU posted an 8:46.77 in the 800-yd freestyle relay, with Billings, Johnson. Tafe and Naihomy Garcia taking the runner-up spot.
Other top finishers include Garcia in the 200-yd freestyle (4th, 2:08.33), Johnson in the 100-yd (3rd, 1:05.75) and 200-yd backstroke (3rd, 2:24.26), Billings in the 100-yd freestyle (3rd, 59.53), and Fohring in the 200-yd individual medley (2:24.16).
ESU returns to action on Nov. 20, when the Warriors host Lock Haven at 1:00 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
