Women’s Cross Country Earns Fourth Place at Lock Haven Winter Invite

Mandy Fine finishes 10th overall to lead the Warriors

CASTANEA, Pa. – Competing for the first time in 462 days, the East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team finished in fourth-place at the Lock Haven Winter Invite on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Mandy Fine finished in 10th place to lead the Warriors, completing the 5k road course on Lower Creek Road with a time of 19:15.2. As a team, the Warriors posted a score of 80 and an average time of 19:45.

Freshmen Keely Arndt (19:21.2) and Madison Palmer (19:32.1) finished 12th and 14th in their first collegiate race, respectively.

Other Warrior finishers include Brittany Carratura (20th, 19:58.3), Holly Orr (24th, 20:33.5), Kaylene Raczka (26th, 20:45.5), Samantha Brawner (27th, 20:51.2) and Emily Furlong (32nd, 20:58.1)

Host Lock Haven won the event, with an average time of 18:48 and score of 37. Gannon (63) and Shippensburg (76) finished second and third, respectively. Clarion earned fifth place with a score of 96 to round out the participating teams.

Laurel Moyer of Lock Haven won the event with a time of 17:35.1. The Bald Eagles posted the top three times en route to victory.

The Lock Haven Winter Invite, along with ESU Swimming participating at the PSAC Invitational, marked the first intercollegiate athletic competitions for ESU since March 10, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
