Casey Ellis finished as the runner-up and senior
Teddy Mostellar earned All-PSAC honors to lead the East Stroudsburg men's cross country team at the PSAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at the West Branch Cross Country Course. The Warriors placed 7th overall in the 5k race with 199 team points and an average finishing time of 16:39.
Ellis became the third runner in program history to finish second at the conference meet and the first since Frank Fezza accomplished the feat in 2012. The Rome, Pa. native garnered All-PSAC First Team honors for the second straight year after clocking a time of 15:17.3. Ellis has now taken home All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons at ESU.
Mostellar was the Warrior's next top finisher at the championships, placing 23rd with a time of 16:05.9 to collect All-PSAC Second Team honors for the first time in his career.
Rounding out the scoring for the Warriors was junior
Luke Valdevit in 41st place with a time of 16:30.1, junior
Josh D'Agostino in 78th place after running a time of 17:24.2 and redshirt freshman
Koodsha Manjaro in 99th place after clocking a time of 17:57.8.
Also competing for the Warriors was freshman
Alejandro Paez (19:13.4) and freshman
Sean Roberts (19:16.5).
Edinboro was crowned the PSAC champions with a 22 team points, an average time of 15:23 and five of the top eight finishers. Shippensburg (64 team points) took second and Lock Haven finished third with 79 team points. Colton Cassel of Edinboro won the individual with a time of 15:15.6.
ESU will turn their attention to the track and field season which gets underway on Saturday, April 3 at the Millersville Metrics.
