EAST STROUDSBURG – The No. 10 East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team is set to open the 2021 campaign against Frostburg State on Tuesday at Eiler-Martin Stadium. First draw is set for 2:00 p.m. against the Bobcats.
Expectations are high for the East Stroudsburg women's lacrosse team in 2021. The Warriors return 10 of 12 starters from a team that posted a 4-1 record in an abbreviated 2020 season. Its only loss last season was a 10-8 setback against Lindenwood, who is ranked No. 2 in the latest IWLCA Division II poll.
EILER-MARTIN STADIUM SPECTATOR POLICY (subject to change)
- All spectators in attendance are required to remain socially distanced of at least six feet apart (a family pod may sit or stand together) and wear masks at all times.
- Spectator attendance will be limited to 20 percent of capacity.
- Spectators are strongly encouraged not to interact with players, coaches or staff members in close. contact before, during, or after the contest.
- No tailgating activities allowed.
- Lacrosse is temporarily playing games at Eiler-Martin Stadium, due to ongoing turf renovations to Whitenight Field.

- Tuesdays matchup marks the sixth time that ESU and Frostburg State have met.

- ESU lacrosse head coach Xeni Barakos-Yoder enters her sixth season in 2021, compiling a 63-19 overall record. The Warriors have made three consecutive NCAA Tournaments (2017-19) and won the program's first-ever PSAC championship in her second season in 2017.

- Senior attack Krista Mitarotonda is a two-time All-America selection (1st team in 2018, 2nd team in 2019) and a two-time first team All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region honoree. She has 144 career goals and 28 assists in just 45 games at ESU, with 67 goals as a freshman, 61 as a sophomore and 16 last spring.
- Graduate student Hana Cicerelle was a first team All-PSAC and All-Region selection in both 2018 and 2019. She enters her final campaign with 206 career points (132 goals, 74 assists) and had 52 goals and 29 assists in ESU's last full season.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway, the US Lacrosse Magazine DII Preseason Goalkeeper if the Year, led all of Division II in save percentage (.548) in 2019. The two-time All-America selection (3rd team in 2017, 2nd team in 2019) earned first team All-PSAC and All-Region in both seasons.
SCOUTING FROSTBURG
- Tuesday's contest will serve as the first game of the 2021 season for Frostburg State.
- In the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, the Bobcats posted a 2-2 overall record with wins over Chestnut Hill and Albion, while suffering losses to Belmont Abbey and Shepherd.
- Lily Stephens, who led the Bobcats with 13 goals and 16 points a season ago, returns for her sophomore season.
