Player of the Week History 

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – East Stroudsburg University redshirt sophomore right-hander Chase Nowak has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.

This is the first time that Nowak has garnered the award for the Warriors. He joins Jeremy Gigliotti, Brian Ernst, Matt Festa, Brandon Holup, Ian Allen, Nate Fiala and Cam Voss as the only ESU pitchers to receive the award at least once during their career.

The Wilkes-Barre, Pa. native, who earned the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday, went 1-0 for the Warriors after tossing the ninth no-hitter in program history and a striking out a career high 11 in seven shutout innings.

Nowak is 2-2 through six starts this season and has fanned 39 batters which is tied for seventh among all PSAC pitchers.

ESU returns to Creekview Park on Friday when they welcome Lock Haven for a pair of seven-inning games beginning at noon.
