EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's swimming team honored five seniors and earned a 135-83 victory over Millersville in the ESU Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The five seniors honored were
Erynn Brady,
Samantha Christman,
Julia Harnish,
Taylor Howery and
Elizabeth Young.
The Warriors earned victories in nine of the 14 events and the freshmen class accounted for four of the wins.
Freshman
Madison Tafe started the day for the Warriors with a victory in the 1650-yd freestyle (19:54.78) and followed it up with a win in the 500-yd freestyle (5:57.04).
Junior
Emma Billings picked up wins in the 200-yd freestyle (2:05.54) and 50-yd freestyle (27.27) while also earning a second place finish in the 100-yd freestyle (1:00.04).
Senior
Taylor Howery won the fourth straight event for the Warriors to open up the meet after swimming a time of 1:03.80 in the 100-yd backstroke.
Freshman
Jenna Johnson picked up a pair of triumphs in the 200-yd backstroke (2:17.81) and 200-yd IM (2:23.98) to round out the first-place finishers for the Warriors.
Junior
Sarah Luigard earned a win in the 100-yd butterfly after finishing with a time of 1:03.64.
In the relays, ESU won the 400-yd medley and took second in the 400-yd freestyle. The squad of Johnson,
Julia Harnish,
Sarah Luigard and Howery posted a time of 4:18.18 to win the 400-yd medley. ESU's crew of Johnson,
Patricia Bartosh, Tafe and Billings posted a time of to finish second in the 400-yd freestyle relay.
The Warriors head to York, Pa. on Wednesday, April 21 for the PSAC Championships which continue through Saturday, April 24.
