EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team scored seven runs on seven hits in the third inning of game one to earn an 8-7 comeback victory over Bloomsburg on Monday afternoon as the teams played to a split at Creekview Park. The Huskies fended off a Warriors' seventh inning rally in game two to earn the 8-7 victory.
ESU moved to 11-10 overall and 9-7 in the PSAC East while the Bloomsburg goes to 8-7 on the season and 8-7 in conference play.
Redshirt senior
Carson Freeman helped pace the Warriors on offense, which combined for 15 runs and 17 hits across the pair of contests, as he finished the day 4-for-7 at the plate with two doubles, a walk, three runs scored and one run batted in, which was the 100th of his career.

Game 1 Recap
Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the third inning, the Warriors' offense erupted for seven runs on seven hits to take an 8-3 lead. The Huskies would not go away quietly as they scored one run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to make the score 8-7. Over the final two innings, redshirt sophomore

CJ Gonzales combined to allow just one Husky to reach base and hold on for the one-run victory in game one of the doubleheader at Creekview Park.
Despite issuing nine walks over 4.0 innings, ESU starter
Cam Voss was awarded the win after allowing four runs on three hits.
Nathan Kitchell surrendered three runs on three hits in one inning, while Yates fired a clean sixth inning. Gonzales recorded his third save of the season even after allowing a lead off single in the seventh.
Bloomsburg's reliever Logan Hile was handed the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits in his one inning of work. Michael Standen started the contest, allowing one run on two hits over 2.0 innings.
Brock Kauffman and Freeman each logged a pair of hits and seven different Warriors recorded at least one hit. Haverstick highlighted the offense with a three-run blast in the third.
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning as
Cam Voss issued five walks. Jared Burcin pushed across the first run on a groundout to first base and with one out, Anthony Viggiano skied a sacrifice fly to right field to plate the second run of the inning.
The Warriors answered with one run on one hit in the bottom half of the frame to cut the Huskies' lead to 2-1.

Brock Kauffman who doubled down the left field line to score Rojas.
With two-outs in the top of the second inning, Kyle OFier singled through the left side to give the Huskies a 3-1 lead as Andrew Holmes came around to score.
ESU sent 12 players to the plate and exploded for seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the third inning to take an 8-3 lead. Haverstick got the rally started with a three-run homer to left field that plated Dunleavy and Freeman to make the score 4-3 in favor of the Warriors. Stirr followed with a double and with two outs, Paolini drew a walk to set up Rojas for a two RBI triple after the right fielder lost the ball in the sun. Three straight singles from Piatkiewicz, Kauffman and Freeman pushed across two more runs to give ESU a five-run lead.
The Huskies got one run back in the top of fourth inning to trim the Warriors' lead to 8-4. With the bases loaded, Voss got Kyle OFier to ground into a key double play which allowed Jake Reed to score and limit the damage by the Huskies in the frame.
Bloomsburg drew within one run in the fifth inning as Gianni Sinatore delivered a three-run homer down the left field line to make the score 8-7 in favor of the Warriors. Viggiano doubled to lead off the inning and Ben Newbert followed with a single to set up Sinatore.
Over the final two innings, Bloomsburg failed to put a runner in scoring position as they recorded just one baserunner on single from Newbert to lead off the seventh.
Game 2 Recap
After falling behind 1-0 early, Bloomsburg scored eight runs over the final four innings and held off a Warriors comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn an 8-7 victory in the game two of the doubleheader at Creekview Park.
Bloomsburg's starter JJ Spehrely was credited with the win after allowing two runs on two hits in 4.1 innings. Nate Baraksnki was tagged for four runs on five hits in 1.2 innings and Jared Marshman recorded the save despite allowing one run on one hit in the seventh.

Brent Francisco was given the loss after yielding three runs on four hits.

Mike Yates, and
JP Nolan combined to allow five runs (two earned) on seven hits over the final three innings of work.
Stirr and Dunleavy led ESU offensively with a home run each and as six different Warriors collected a hit, inlcuding Freeman with a pair.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on RBI groundout from Dunleavy. Freeman set up the scoring opportunity for the Warriors with a lead off double to right field before advancing to third on a wild pitch.
Bloomsburg got on the board in the top of the fourth and took the lead after scoring three runs on two hits. Viggiano drew a lead off walk and Tyler Wiik singled to set up Sinatore who delivered an RBI double to tie the game at 1-1. Cole Swiger then hit a chopper to Paolini, who tried to cut off Wiik going home, but he slid under the tag to give Bloomsburg the lead. Reed then hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Sinatore which put the Huskies out in front 3-1.
The Huskies took advantage of two errors by the Warriors and scored two runs on two hits to extend their lead to 5-1 in the top of the fifth inning. Chasanov leadoff with a single and advanced to second on throwing error, before coming around to score on an OFier single to make the score 4-1. ESU's second throwing error of the frame allowed OFier to eventually score from second to give Bloomsburg a four-run lead.
Stirr answered with a solo home run to left field to lead off the bottom half of the inning to trim Bloomsburg's edge to 5-2.
Bloomsburg got the run right back in the top of the sixth inning with their own leadoff homer off the bat Gianni Sinatore.
The Warriors responded with a pair of runs on four hits in the bottom half of the frame to make the score 6-4 in favor of Bloomsburg. Freeman hit a bloop double down the left field line to begin the inning and eventually came around to score on a base knock from Haverstick. ESU then got back-to-back singles from Stirr and Paolini which allowed Haverstick to come home and put them down two runs.
The Huskies added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning to push their lead to 8-4. With the bases loaded and two outs, Sinatore produced a single through the left side that OFier and Wiik came around to score on.
ESU did not go quietly in the home half of the inning as they cut the Bloomsburg lead down to one with only one out in the inning. Redshirt freshman
Ben Piripavel and Kauffman worked back-to-back walks to open the frame before the Huskies were forced to make a pitching change. With one out, Dunleavy crushed the first pitch he saw to deep left field for a three-run homer which made the score 8-7. However, Marshman was able to record the final two outs to hold on for the win.
