SALEM, Va. – After combining for 11 goals in the NCAA Semifinals, the NCAA announced that graduate student Hana Cicerelle and freshman Emily Mitarotonda were named to the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team.
Mitarotonda, a freshman, led the Warriors with seven points on six goals and an assist against top-seed Queens in the NCAA Semifinal on Friday. She also scooped three ground balls and earned three draw controls against Queens. Defensively, she caused a turnover. Mitarotonda's 48 goals on the season and 60 points rank second among all freshman in the program history.
Playing in her final game as a Warrior, Cicerelle posted five goals against the Royals. The Broadway, N.J. native finished her ESU career as the Warriors' all-time points leader (270 points) and ranks second in program history in both goals (180 goals) and assists (90).
Cicerelle and Mitarotonda join Krista Mitarotonda (2018) and Tatyanna Petteway (2018), as Warriors who haven been named to the NCAA DII All-Tournament Team.
ESU's 2021 season goes down as one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Warriors advanced to the NCAA Semifinals (Final Four) with its second-ever Atlantic Region title in a 13-9 win over undefeated West Chester on May 16.
