BRONXVILLE, N.Y.– The One Love Foundation has announced that East Stroudsburg University lacrosse junior defender Chelsea Allie was named one of three finalists for the YRL Unsung Hero Award for NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse.

The Yeardley Reynolds Love ("YRL") Unsung Hero Award recognizes the accomplishments of six student-athletes who help their teams achieve success in ways that may not be measured in goals, saves or ground balls. This honor places value on kindness and generosity, characteristics that are often undervalued in the competitively charged environment of college lacrosse.

Allie, who was nominated by ESU's coaching staff for, "constantly giving it her at practice and helps her teammates be prepared and the best athletes they can be. Her energy and enthusiasm each day drives herself and everyone around her to be better."

Allie, a native of North Oaks, Minn. was named one of two DII women's lacrosse finalists along with Edie Webb of Lenoir-Rhyne University. Marisa Souchak of Saint Leo University was named the YRL Unsung Hero for DII women's lacrosse.

This season, the exercise science major has appeared in 10 games and made seven starts. She recorded 13 ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.
