EAST STROUDSBURG – After 71 minutes of scoreless action, Evencia Welsh rocketed the lone goal of the contest, as the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team took a step closer to clinching a PSAC Tournament berth with a 1-0 victory over Lock Haven on Wednesday evening inside Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors (8-3-2, 6-3-2) remain in the fourth place in the PSAC East standings with the win and now have 21 points. The Bald Eagles drop to 3-7-3, 1-7-3 in conference play.
Rebecca Kotula and Carina Gasaparini setup the long goal, as Gasparini found Welsh with space on the nearside of the field before firing a shot to the top-left corner.

ESU led 20-18 on shots and 7-6 on shots on goal.
Both squads registered five corner kicks.
Both goalkeepers registered six saves. Two-time PSAC East Goalkeeper of the Week Emmy Clarkson registered her fourth shutout of her freshman campaign.
The Warriors have now won six consecutive meetings with the Bald Eagles and lead the all-time series by a 17-11-1 mark, with 15th year head coach Rob Berkowitz improving to 13-3-1 against LHU.
How it Happened
72' | Kotula and Gasaprini used a give-and-go exchange, before Gasaprini sent a perfect pass to Welsh without a defender in reach. The Barstow Calif., native and Antelope Valley College transfer sent a shot to the upper-left corner for the game-winner.
