EAST STROUDSBURG – The Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award announced on Tuesday that Devin Bartholomew was recognized as one of 29 placekickers at the FCS, NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels for their excellence on football field for his impressive start to the season.
Bartholomew, an All-PSAC East Second Team selection in 2021, has made 10-of-12 field goal attempts and has made all 15 point-after-attempts through the first month of the season. He made all 45 PATs he has attempted as a Warrior, which extends to 86 consecutive attempts made by ESU kickers dating back to the 2018 season finale.
In NCAA Division II, the Parkland High School graduate ranks first nationally in field goals per game (2.4), 14th in field goal percentage (0.857), 13th in points scored (10.2 ppg) and 10th in total points scored (51).
He was named the PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week earlier this season after tying the ESU school record with five field goals made against Seton Hill. He has only missed a 52-yd field goal against SHU and a 38-yd attempt against Lock Haven.
Of the 29 placekickers recognized on all three levels of NCAA, eight resided at the NCAA Division II level. Joining Bartholomew on the list from the PSAC was Brian Alsobrooks from Mercyhurst.
ESU and Bartholomew are back in action on Saturday against Millersville. Game time is set for Noon at Biemesderfer Stadium.
