KUTZTOWN – Despite scoring the opening goal, the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team fell short at Kutztown, 3-2, on Saturday evening at Keystone Field.
The Warriors drop to 7-3-2 on the season and 5-3-2 in the PSAC East, while the Golden Bears improve to 7-2-3 overall and 6-2-2 in the conference.
With the victory, Kutztown surpasses ESU for third place in the PSAC East standings with 21 points while the ESU remains at 17 points.

- After scoring the game's opening goal, Kotula continues to lead the PSAC with eight goals and 21 points, four more than the second place

How it Happened
- 14' | On an early corner kick opportunity, the Warriors converted as Marshall delivered a perfect ball to Kotula near the back post, where she was able to get a head on it to make the score 1-0
- 27' | After the Golden Bears crossed the ball into the box, there was a battle for possession before Sadie Goad blasted a shot into the back of the net tie the game up at 1-1
- 47' | Less than two minutes into the second half, Kutztown converted a corner kick of their own as Kayla Argen served the ball into the middle of the box for Isabella Rossetti, who headed it in to put the Golden Bears ahead 2-1
- 49' | After a free kick was sent into the box, a number of players from each team tried to gain possession, but as the ball trickled toward the net, the Warriors were unable to convert a clear which resulted in goal for Kutztown to make the score 3-1
- 66' | Following a throw in deep in the Kutztown defensive zone, Smith corralled the ball at the top of the box before firing a shot into top right corner of the goal to trim ESU's deficit to 3-2
