EAST STROUDSBURG -- After leading the East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team with 12 goals and 10 draw controls in a pair of NCAA Tournament victories, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association announced on Tuesday that sophomore midfielder Emily Mitarotonda has been selected as the IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week for NCAA Division II.

Mitarotonda posted five goals in an NCAA First Round victory over Mercyhurst and led the Warriors with seven of its 13 goals against No. 6 West Chester, including the game-ending goal in overtime to lift ESU to its second consecutive Atlantic Region Championship and third overall since 2018.

After her big weekend, Mitarotonda ranks fourth in the country in goals with 82 and 11th nationally in goals per game with 4.10. Her 101 points this season ranks 12th best in NCAA Division II and second on the Warriors.

The Rockaway, N.J. native becomes the first Warrior to earn national player of the week from the IWLAC on multiple occasions, receiving the honor as a freshman last season after her performance in 2021 Atlantic Regional Championship. She is the fourth different Warrior to earn national player of the wee this season, joining teammates McKenzie Gaghan (May 10), Kiki Fitzpatrick (April 5) and Kayleigh Pokrivka (March 22).

Mitarotonda and the Warriors are back in action on Friday, when top-seed ESU meets fourth seed Queens (N.C.) in the NCAA Semifinal round at 5:00 p.m. EST at Lindenwood University's Hunter Stadium.
