FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team opened the 2022 season by taking fourth place as a team at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite on Friday at Bethpage Polo at the Park.

ESU was paced by pair of new faces in freshmen Kelly Martin and Megan Elgrim on the 5k course. Martin recorded an 11th place finish after clocking a time of 21:38.70, while Elgrim was not far behind in 14th place after cross the line in 22:11.50.

Sophomore Alycia Smith also recorded a top-20 finish for the Warriors, coming in 18th with a time of 22:36.50.

Rounding out the finishes for ESU was senior Samantha Brawner in 38th (23:44.20) and sophomore Jada Williams in 48th (25:19.90).

Up Next

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17 at noon p.m. when they head to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
