MANSFIELD, Pa. – Natalie Schooley found the back of the net twice to lead the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team to its fourth consecutive win in a 2-0 road victory at Mansfield on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors (8-1-1, 6-1-1 PSAC East) tally its fourth shutout over the past five contests and its seventh in 10 matches this season. The Mounties (3-6-1, 2-5-1 PSAC East) drop its second consecutive contest.
Notables
- Schooley registered a penalty kick goal during the 16th minute of action and provided insurance with her sixth goal of the campaign during the 78th minute. The native of Chery Hill, N.J. paces ESU with six goals, three assists for 15 points. She is now tied for third in the PSAC in goals and ranks third in the points this season.
- GK Emmy Clarkson continued her strong sophomore season with her seventh shutout of the season and her 12th in just 25 games as a Warrior. The product of Frederick, Md. made one save against the Mounties. She continues to lead the conference in goals-against average (.40) and shutouts per game (.70), while ranking third in save percentage (.871). Clarkson ranks sixth all-time in career shutouts (12), while her seven shutouts this season are tied for the ninth most in a single slate.
- It's the second three-game shutout streak for the Warriors, after opening the season with three consecutive clean sheets.
- ESU led in shots (23-6), shots on goal (8-1) and corners (5-2). There were no yellow cards issued.
- Schooley posted three shots for ESU, while Rebecca Kotula and Millie Smith each added three. Abby James led the way with five shots.
