LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the third time this season, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced that East Stroudsburg University sophomore goalkeeper
Brayden Evans was tabbed the conference's East Division Defensive Athlete of the Week.
In his lone contest of the week, Evans made three saves in a shutout performance against first-place West Chester on Homecoming Saturday. The contest ended in a scoreless draw, as the Warriors (5-0-5, 1-0-5 PSAC East) were able to pick up a point in the standings and remain undefeated on the season.
Evans leads the PSAC in save percentage (.870) and ranks seventh nationally in the category among 150 eligible goalkeepers in NCAA Division II. He ranks second in the conference and 15
th in the country in goals-against average (.519).
The honor is the sixth in his career for the sophomore and ESU's fourth overall PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honor, with fellow Warrior goalkeeper
Helgi Hermannsson earning the honor on Sept. 18.
Evans and the Warriors head to Bloomsburg on Wednesday to begin the second half of the PSAC East schedule.
