SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V. – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team came up short against Shepherd in a PSAC dual, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Rams on Monday afternoon at the Shepherd Tennis Complex.
The Warriors fall to 0-8 on the season and 0-5 in the PSAC East, while the Rams improve to 3-13 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Back-to-back PSAC East Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Elina Joronen remained undefeated as the graduate student improved her record to 5-0 at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 victory over Shepherd's Marketa Beladova.
Sherin Paul collected her first collegiate victory as the senior defeated Shepherd's Anna Mooney (6-0, 6-3) at No. 5 singles.
