EAST STROUDSBURG – Reigning PSAC Athlete of the Week Elina Joronen earned a victory for the East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team at No. 1 singles, but the Warriors suffered a 6-1 setback to Kutztown in a PSAC East match on Wednesday afternoon at Wolbers Courts.
ESU (0-6, 0-3 PSAC East) earned their first victory in a doubles match since October 15, 2019, as Joronen and Samantha Passmore took down Kutztown's (5-8, 2-2 PSAC East) Ava Lewis and Jess Marks in the No. 1 doubles, 6-1.
Joronen moved to an impressive 3-0 in the No. 1 singles spot and Passmore collected the first victory of her collegiate career.
