Women’s Cross Country Notches Seventh Place Finish at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARMOUTH, Mass. – The East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team continued to shine as the Warriors notched a seventh place finish out of 37 teams at the 50th UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.

The event was moved from Saturday due to inclement weather.

In the 5K event, which ESU took 30th out of 39 teams in 2022, the Warriors were led by Bri Hennett as the freshman took 10th after clocking a time of 18:15.18. Recording a top-30 finish was first-year student Carla Bautista (18:41.74) in 27th and fellow classmate Payton Falkenstein was 65th with a time of 19:27.79.

Graduate student Holly Chambers was not far behind in 77th after crossing the line in 19:37.11 and freshman first-year Mia Sisilli (19:48.72) rounded out the scoring for ESU in 88th.

Freshman Kiera Wimbush (89th – 19:49.65), sophomore Megan Elgrim (93rd – 19:54.76) and Gabriela Orama (97th – 20:03.49) each finished in the top-100.  

In the 5K JV for ESU, juniors Alycia Smith (21:43.90) finished 42nd, freshman Abigial Kolb (22:33.75) took 57th and Jada Williams (23:19.56) was 69th.

ESU makes their way to Lehigh on Saturday, September 30 as the Warriors compete in the Paul Short Run at 11:45 a.m. from the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
