EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – After a scoreless first half, No. 3 East Stroudsburg University field hockey registered two second-half goals to defeat Mansfield, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon during Senior and Youth Day.
The Warriors (9-2, 1-1 PSAC) earned their first conference win, while the Mounties (6-4, 1-1 PSAC) suffered their first PSAC loss.
Notables
- Jady van Gils opened the scoring in the third quarter, taking possession on the right side after receiving the insertion from Allyson Forman and sending a shot into the lower left corner of the cage. The goal was her 10th of the season through 11 games and the 26th of her career.
- Kendall Eggelston added an insurance goal when Rylie McGrath beat a defender and sent a late pass to Eggelston, who finished the play.
- With one second on the clock, Mansfield was awarded a penalty corner and capitalized with Ella Du Plessis assisting Kenedy Stroup on the Mounties' lone goal.
- ESU led 7-5 in shots, with both teams recording five shots on goal. Mansfield held a 7-6 advantage in penalty corners.

- ESU honored seniors Allyson Forman, student assistant Olivia Peetchatka, and Jady van Gils before the game. Together, they have helped the Warriors post a 63-10 record over the past two seasons, capturing back-to-back PSAC championships and making two national championship appearances, including winning the 2022 title.
