PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The 21st-ranked East Stroudsburg University baseball team won its 13th consecutive game on Tuesday afternoon with a 7-3 triumph over Pace at Peter X. Finnerty Field.
The Warriors, who scored seven runs on nine hits, improved to 16-3 overall while the Setters dropped to 8-6 on the season.

Batting Notables
- Shanley Wall continued his success at the plate as the sophomore recorded a career-high four hits (4-for-5) to go along with two runs and a stolen base. Through 19 games this season the Souderton native his hitting .438 (28-64) with a .578 slugging and .493 on-base percentage.
- Parker Frey saw his 14-game hit streak come to an end but the redshirt sophomore notched two walks and drove in three runs
- Redshirt freshman Walker Zampella (1-for-5) recorded his first career home run in the top of the fourth inning and scored two runs, while junior Jack Rothenhausler finished 1-for-2 with double and two runs
- Senior Mike Kelly went 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run and stolen base out of the leadoff spot while redshirt freshman Chaise Albus added a double and run batted in
Pitching Notables
- Making his first start of the season, J.J. Hood was credited with his first collegiate win as the redshirt freshman fired 3.0 innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out a pair
- Greg Wiley was lights out in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings as the junior punched out five Setters
- Freshman Johansel Brito (three hits, one run), sophomore Jaden Newton (one hit, one run) and freshman Carson Renner (one strikeout) each fired an inning in relief
How it Happened – ESU 7, Pace 3
ESU got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning as the Warriors used two hits to plate the game's first run. With one out, Wall singled and Rothenhausler doubled to set up Frey for an RBI groundout to first base.
Pace took advantage of back-to-back walks to lead off the bottom of the second inning as the Setters played small ball to push across a run, tying the score at 1-1. A bunt moved both runners over before Josh Miller produced a sacrifice fly to left field.
With one out and the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, ESU regained a 2-1 lead as Frey delivered a sacrifice fly to left field for his second RBI of the game.
In the top of the fourth inning, Zampella crushed his first home run of the season to left-center field to extend the Warriors' lead to 3-1.
Pace answered in the home half of the inning with their own solo home run as Cole Resetar cleared the left-center field wall to pull the Setters within one run, 3-2.
ESU scored for the third straight inning in the top of the fifth as the Warriors pushed across two runs on one hit to stretch their advantage to 5-2. With runners on the corners following a leadoff single from Wall and Rothenhausler getting by a pitch, Frey grounded out for his third RBI to make score 4-2. After Rothenhausler advanced to third on a passed ball and Haverstick walked, Albus reached on a fielder's choice to drive in another run.
The Warriors added an insurance run with two outs in the top of the eighth inning when Kelly poked a triple to left field to plate Zampella, who reached on a one-out error.
In the home half of the eighth inning, Pace cut the deficit to 6-3 on a two-out RBI double from George Provel that scored Mason Baronian.
ESU took advantage of a Pace error in their final at-bats as consecutive walks to Rothenhausler and Frey to begin the ninth inning were followed by a miscue on a ball hit in play from Haverstick, which allowed the Warriors' seventh run to score.
