WINTER PARK, Fla. – Following the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship game, the NCAA announced that East Stroudsburg University senior midfielder
Emily Mitarotonda and junior goalkeeper
Abby Simonetti were selected to the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team.
Mitarotonda registered four points with three goals and an assist against Adelphi in the NCAA Semifinals. The Rockaway, N.J. native also caused a turnover and earned seven draw controls in her final outing as a Warrior. In her final season, the four-time IWLCA All-America selection set ESU and PSAC records with 98 goals and 128 points.
Among all NCAA Division II players, she ranked first in free-position goals per game, third in goals, third in goals per game, third in points, fourth in points per game, sixth in caused turnovers per game, 20th in ground balls per game and 29th in draw controls per game. Mitarotonda has now been named to the NCAA DII Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team three times (2021-22, 2024), becoming the first multiple time honoree.
Simonetti, who became ESU's first IWLCA All-America First Team goalkeeper this season, posted 12 saves against the Panthers in the NCAA Semifinals. One of the top goalkeepers in the country all-season, the Millington, Md. led the nation in saves (238) and saves percentage (.598), while ranking third in saves per game (11.33) and 13th in goals against average. Her 238 saves rank second all-time in a single season at ESU.
The Warriors completed the 2024 season with a 14-7 record, earning its fourth Atlantic Region Championship in four seasons, while advancing to the NCAA Semifinals in three of the past four campaigns.
