EAST STROUDSBURG -- The East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team will honor the memory of Alyssa Oxenford on Sat., May 4th with the 7th annual Alyssa Oxenford Memorial Game.

Alyssa Oxenford an ESU women's lacrosse student-athlete, passed away in August 2015 from leukemia following her junior season at ESU. A three-year starter, the Warriors have worn orange headbands and have Alyssa's #7 patch on their sleeve in memory of Oxenford.

 

"Remembering Alyssa is an important part of the history and legacy of this program," said ESU head coach Xeni Barakos-Yoder.  "Though current team members have never met her, they honor her and can relate to someone in their lives having cancer."

The Warrior lacrosse team continues to honor Alyssa's fight with her family in attendance each season.

Additionally, ESU will honor its alumni prior to taking on the Golden Bears.
