DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Led by a 35th-place finish from Daniella Napoli, the East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team finished 12th among 45 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.
Among 346 runners, Napoli posted a time of 18:36.5 in the varsity 5k race to lead the Warriors. Carla Bautista (76th, 19:31.7), Gabriela Orama (88th, 19:40.6), and Megan Elgrim (94th, 19:44.9) all recorded top-100 finishes for ESU.
Marissa McDougall (120th, 20:05.2), Riley Trentowski (133rd, 20:14.4), Kelly Martin (156th, 20:32.2), and Sidney Hutt (161st, 20:35.5) rounded out the Warriors' finishers.
In the JV race, ESU took 10th place out of 16 teams. Alycia Smith (21:34.9) led the way with a 62nd-place finish.
The Warriors are idle until Saturday, Oct. 5, when ESU heads to Bethlehem for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University.
