BETHPAGE, N.Y. – The East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team opened its 2024 season in style, capturing the Panther Cross Country Invite title with four top-10 finishes.
Daniella Napoli (1st – 18:41.30) and Megan Elgrim (2nd – 19:32.80) finished first and second, respectively, in the 5k event. Carla Bautista (4th – 19:48.40), Gabriela Orama (8th – 20:03.80), and Kelly Martin (10th – 20:28.40) also secured top-10 finishes to lead the Warriors in an impressive team effort.
Freshmen Riley Trentowski (12th – 20:34.40), Sidney Hutt (15th – 20:54.80), Marissa McDougall (16th – 21:09.70), and Alex Chobany (17th – 21:31.10) placed in the top-20 in their first collegiate race.
Also competing were Alycia Smith (26th – 22:31.50) and Aubrey Bonner (28th – 22:45.30). All 11 Warriors who raced finished in the top 30 percent of the 99 participants.
