Warriors Down West Chester in Three Straight Sets

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball team (12-4, 2-2 PSAC) delivered a powerful performance at Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon, securing a 3-0 sweep over visiting West Chester (11-3, 2-1 PSAC). ESU handled the Golden Rams with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-14.
 
ESU delivered a strong defensive performance, holding the Golden Rams to a low .099 hitting percentage over the three sets. The Warriors' defense was anchored by 58 digs and a total of 7.0 blocks (2 solo blocks, 10 block assists).
 
Top Performers:
Anna Coulter had a match-high 18 kills. She was exceptionally efficient, achieving an impressive .563 hitting percentage on 32 attacks. Coulter also contributed 2 solo blocks and 4 block assists to finish with a team-leading 23.0 points.
 
Libero Marta Leeland anchored the back court with 23 digs. Leeland also contributed 2 service aces.
 
Kyra Bishop tallied 18 assists for the Warriors, while Kata Kovacs added 12 assists and 2 service aces.
 
Kelly Crites finished with 5 kills and 10 digs.
 
Allison Birtcil recorded 6 kills and 2 block assists.
 
How The Warriors Swept
Set 1 (25-19): ESU took the opening frame, which was contested early and featured 9 tie scores and 2 lead changes. The Warriors' attack registered 13 kills while hitting .190.
 
Set 2 (25-23): The second set proved to be the tightest of the afternoon. East Stroudsburg secured the narrow victory after hitting its highest percentage of the match at .263. This frame included 5 tie scores and 3 lead changes.
 
Set 3 (25-14): ESU dominated the final set, pulling away quickly to clinch the match. The Warriors held the Golden Rams to a negative hitting percentage (-.188) in the third set. ESU closed out the sweep, in a set that featured just 3 tie scores and 1 lead change.
