BLOOMSBURG, PA — The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on the road, securing a sweep over Daemen University. The Warriors played a neutral site match against the Wildcats at Bloomsburg University. ESU claimed every point available, defeating their opponent in all nine doubles and singles matches played.
Doubles Sets the Tone
ESU demonstrated immediate control by sweeping all three doubles matches, with every court posting an identical 6-1 score.
The No. 3 pairing of
Bega Gotor and
Claudia Ermina Perez finished first, quickly earning the initial point with a 6-1 victory.
They were followed by the No. 1 team of
Alice Ehrenlechner and
Jenna Kastell, who also secured a 6-1 win.
The sweep was finalized by the No. 2 team of
Audrey Conover and
Theresa Bauer, who closed out their match with a 6-1 victory.
Flawless Singles Run
The Warriors continued their dominance in singles play, capturing all six matches. Two players achieved perfect 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories:
Conover was the first singles player off the court, achieving a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 spot.
Gotor quickly followed with her own 6-0, 6-0 victory playing at the No. 5 position.
Other Warriors secured commanding straight-set wins, furthering the team's lead:
Ariel Kelsick won her No. 2 match 6-4, 6-0.
Bauer secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory in her No. 6 contest.
Ehrenlechner was victorious at No. 3, winning 6-4, 6-3.
Closing out the day's events was the No. 1 singles match, featuring
Lea Stefanovic. After dropping the first set 1-6, Stefanovic staged a powerful comeback to clinch the match.
