LANCASTER, Pa. — The ESU Swimming team competed at the three-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational over the weekend, picking up multiple PSAC and NCAA B Cut qualifying times, as well as four new program records.
FRIDAY RESULTS
- Not many swimmers had a better weekend than Anique Hazebroek, recording notable finishes in all three days of the meet. Starting Friday, Hazebroek broke the school record in the 500-yard freestyle twice; first in the preliminary round, and again in the finals. Her best time came in at 4:59.75, which won the first-ever first-place finish for ESU in the event at this meet, and also an NCAA B Cut qualifying time.
- The second record the Warriors broke on the first day was in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Anna Stauffer, Hazebroek, Chelsea Chiu, and Vera Renshof finished with a time of 1:37.35, which was also good for fifth-place.
- Ava Palochik picked up a qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Renshof added a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, making the podium with a time of 23.93.
SATURDAY RESULTS
- For the third record-breaking performance of the weekend, the relay team of Chiu, Tamara Engler, Hazebroek, and Renshof added another entry into the record book in the 200-yard medley relay. The group finished in sixth place with a time of 1:47.83.
- The other notable finish for an ESU relay team was in the 800-yard freestyle. Finishing in second place, Hazebroek, Mikayla Potts, Stauffer, and Renshof came in at a time of 7:49.14
- Adding another individual qualifying time to her weekend, Hazebroek clocked in at 59.45 in the 100-yard butterfly.
SUNDAY RESULTS
- Capping off a historic weekend, Hazebroek set a fourth record for ESU swimming with her performance in the 1,650-yard freestyle. The junior finished with a time of 17:16.99, winning the event and making the NCAA B cut.
- The Warriors had two swimmers record NCAA B cut times on the final day of the meet, with Renshof picking up the second. The senior finished as the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.24.
- ESU also added three new PSAC qualifiers, starting with Avah Kling. In the 100-yard freestyle, Kling recorded a time of 55.91.
- The 1,650-yard freestyle was a strong showing for the Warriors, as Sam Grayauskie also picked up a PSAC qualifying time. She finished the event in 19:05.87.
- The final new conference qualifier came from Emily Gambler in the 200-yard butterfly. She picked up the mark with a time of 2:19.51.
- The Warriors also picked up a pair of personal records in the 200-yard breaststroke, as Kennedy Leveto and Engler finished 11th and 13th with times of 2:28.45 and 2:29.51, respectively.
- To wrap up the weekend, East Stroudsburg finished with the eighth-most points, 521, at the meet out of 12 teams, finishing ahead of PSAC teams like Millersville and Shippensburg, while trailing Kutztown.

The Warriors don't compete again until the new year, when they'll travel south for the Florida Swim Meet on Jan. 5 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
