Adam Mengel Named PSAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg's head cross country coach Adam Mengel was named the PSAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, released by the league Thursday afternoon. 

The Major Awards were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches. 

Under fifth year head coach Mengel, the women's cross country team claimed the PSAC Championship title for the first time in program history, finished second at regionals to mark the programs best finish, and competed at nationals for the second consecutive year and third time overall. 

At the PSAC Championship, East Stroudsburg and Edinboro tied with 77 points each, however ESU won the tiebreaker 3-2 in top five finishes. At the 2025 NCAA DII Atlantic Regional, the team placed second to qualify for the NCAA Championships. The Warriors finished 32nd out of 34 teams, scoring 862 points, matching last year's finish and averaging a time of 22:53.8. 

At the PSAC Men's Cross Country Championship, the team had seven All-PSAC finishers, placed 10 runners in the top 50, and were runners-up for the sixth time in program history. The team placed fifth at the 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional, marking the team's best finish since 2012. 

At the PSAC XC Championships, the Warriors totaled 12 All-PSAC finishes between the women's and men's teams. Among the All-PSAC honorees for the women's team were Payton Falkenstein, Sarah Williams, Riley Trentowski, Mia Sisilli, and Kiera Wimbush. On the men's side, Landon Boyle, Brian McGarrity, Aiden Voth, Andrew Tatesure, Ethan Holcomb, Joe Walker, and Bryce Keenoy earned All-PSAC honors.
